The Snake Can stars Diane Cary, Jane Kaczmarek, and Sharon Sharth.
On January 19, the The Odyssey Theater will present the world premiere of The Snake Can, a new play by Kathryn Graf, directed by Steve Robman. The show stars Jane Kaczmarek, well known for her work on Malcolm in the Middle, alongside Diane Cary and Sharon Sharth, who play three middle-aged women struggling to find love and fulfillment. Exploring the themes of marriage, divorce, online dating, and sexual ambiguity, these women and their respective partners played by Gregory Harrison, James Lancaster, and Joel Polis struggle to avoid making the same mistakes twice on their quest for happiness.
The work marks the second major piece by Graf, whose first full-length play Hermetically Sealed was praised by critics and received several award nods during its run at The Skylight Theatre. Meanwhile, Robman has extensive credits in both television and theater, particularly at the Mark Taper Forum where he will return in fall 2013 to direct Brian Dennehy in The Steward of Christendom by Sebastian Barry. The Snake Can will run January 19 through February 24, Thursdays through Sundays. Showtimes and ticket prices vary; for more information, visit odysseytheatre.com. 2055 S.
