I have been going to Palm Springs for 15 years, and what I love most about it is the pace of life there never changes—it is slow, relaxed, and totally separate from the busy lives we lead in Los Angeles. From my first visit, I fell in love with the dry climate, the dramatic landscape, and the modern architecture. Today when I visit the desert oasis, I enjoy hiking in the Indian Canyons, as well as just relaxing poolside, cocktail in hand. Palm Springs’s quiet atmosphere helps me reflect and meditate, something that is difficult to do in LA. When it comes to fashion in Palm Springs, I go for casual chic (think Parke & Ronen swimsuits). For the desert’s surprisingly cool evenings, I gravitate toward John Varvatos and Theory for jackets and light sweaters. But perhaps what I love most about Palm Springs is that it represents LA’s alter ego—the climate and pace of life help we “Type A” people become less intense and more relaxed.
