This holiday season, Magnolia Bakery offers up Hanukkah shortbread cookies.

The eight nights of Hanukkah begin December 8, and for anyone celebrating, that’s a lot of meals to be accounted for. Fortunately you can call in a favor from some of Los Angeles’ top restaurants and bakeries to ease your holiday burden. Whether you want to dine in, take out, or find the perfect treat to bring to a friend’s celebration, check out our Hanukkah dining recommendations below.

Dine in: Akasha
This Culver City New American gem is celebrating with a special “Vodkas and Latkes” menu for the holiday. Start with innovative cocktails featuring tru organic vodka, like the Persimmon & Pom, featuring fresh apple juice, cardamom, cloves, persimmons, and pomegranate. Small-plate specials include a chopped liver served with shallot marmalade and crostini, a house-pickled herring, and their signature Yukon gold potato latkes with a selection of toppings. For mains, indulge in a slow-braised brisket served with latkes, roasted carrots, and cipollini onions; or an artic char plated with a lentil and basmati rice pilaf, delicata squash, and braised market greens. To finish, enjoy apple fritters topped with cinnamon ice cream. Take out: The Larder at Tavern
Whether you’re planning a family feast or just need a few extra sides for a Hanukkah celebration, chef Suzanne Goin has you covered. At the ever-popular Larder at Tavern, she and sommelier Caroline Styne have concocted both a complete dinner for eight ($329) and a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts a la carte to guarantee a stress-free holiday. The complete menu includes latkes to start, paired with a choice of braised beef brisket or a roasted leg of lamb. Sides include duck fat roasted potatoes, Moroccan beets, Italian broccolini, and roasted root vegetables. Dessert features a selection of cookies and challah bread pudding. Items from the prix-fixe meal are also available a la carte, as well as several other takeaway options. Opt for appetizers like house-smoked fish, chicken liver mousse, and goat cheese and leek tartlets, as well as roasted chicken and slow-roasted salmon entrees. Holiday Treat: Magnolia Bakery
Leave it to the pastry chefs behind Magnolia Bakery to whip up a variety of Hanukkah-themed treats ideal for celebrations at a friend’s or to finish off a meal at home.
