Guests can take in gorgeous views of Downtown LA’s skyline from the Ace Hotel’s stunning rooftop lounge.
LA Chapter recently opened inside Downtown LA’s brand new Ace Hotel.
LA Chapter’s mezzanine area is perched just above the main dining room.
The rooftop will serve frozen drinks in the summer.
The Ace Hotel’s new in-house restaurant, LA Chapter, received the same warm welcome as its hotel counterpart did earlier this month. The neighborhood eatery, helmed by Brooklyn’s Five Leaves owner Jud Mongell, offers travelers and locals alike a place to grab coffee, sit down for a meal, or sidle up to the bar for a drink in an atmosphere that exudes an upbeat, bistro-style energy.
Five Leaves’ executive chef/partner Ken Addington crafted LA Chapter’s menu, which includes breakfast staples like buckwheat waffles, and hearty plates like the Five Leaves burger with harissa mayo, grilled pineapple, pickled beet, and a sunny-side-up egg. Meanwhile, plant-based eaters will enjoy healthy options like a kale salad that combines hijiki and crisped rice.
Dan Sabo, also from Five Leaves, spearheads LA Chapter’s bar program. The drink list comprises a variety of craft cocktails, wines, and local beer to be enjoyed from the dining room’s bar, the restaurant’s mezzanine, or in the aptly named rooftop pool and bar lounge, Upstairs. The chic lounge—inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis House and Hollywood’s Les Deux Café—serves Middle Eastern-influenced small plates complemented by cocktails that call out to French Morocco and the Western Colonies. In addition, the rooftop bar offers a refreshing frozen drink program perfect for keeping cool while lounging poolside on LA’s scorching summer days. 927 S. Broadway, Downtown LA, 213-235-9660
