On a High Horse

Adolfo Cambiaso is a man with a name that rarely stands alone; usually it’s accompanied by phrases like “best polo player in the world” and “sixth US Open Polo championship.” So when it was announced that he would captain the Lucchese Polo Team—sponsored by John Muse, chairman of the Lucchese boot company—enthusiasts took note. This year’s high season at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club consists of three tournaments—the Robert Skene Trophy (July 25), Lucchese USPA America Cup (August 1–8) and the 100th annual Bombardier Pacific Coast Open (August 15, 22 and 29). Team Lucchese includes five-goal players Jason Crowder and Andres Weisz, both of whom are keen to take on worthy competitors like Audi, ERG, Mansour, Piocho, Valiente, Zacara and 2009 defending champs Grant’s Farm. It’s bound to be exciting.
We go behind the scenes with James Marsden, and ask him about the shoot, living in LA, and what's next.
