New Beachside Nightlife Spot: Shorebar
June 28, 2012 | by —Michelle Ward | Homepage
Nestled between famed Giorgio Baldi and upscale restaurant, Hungry Cat, Shorebar brings a much-needed nightlife venue to the beachside neighborhood of Santa Monica Canyon. The intimate space features bold white-and-navy-striped ceilings, brass fixtures, and ship-shape wooden accents as a play on nautical design.
Cozy booths make for a great sipping spot to try one of the many fresh-fruit cocktails, sure to be Shorebar’s biggest draw. Mixologist Vincenzo Marianella concocts refreshing summer drinks like the Ok Koral (rhum clement, Appleton extra Jamaican rum, velvet falernum, passion fruit puree, organic mango, and cracked jalapeno) from local farmer’s market ingredients. The brainchild of h.wood.group’s LA-native John Terzian, Shorebar also features a members-only second-floor mezzanine level with private bar, lockers, and wine tasting nights. 112 W. Channel Rd., Santa Monica, 310-429-1851
