Must-See Photography: 'Icons, Old & New'
June 27, 2012 | by —Michelle Ward | Homepage
“Icons, Old & New,” a photography exhibit culled by actor/DJ Danny Masterson features shots of music’s most famous faces. Debuting at Confederacy, Masterson’s Los Feliz/Silverlake lifestyle boutique, the limited-edition showcase is part of a series put together by Rock Paper Photo, a fine art photography site founded by music manager Guy Oseary.
Masterson is the latest guest curator (a role previously held by John Varvatos and Def Leppard's Phil Collen), and has chosen over 40 iconic prints from photographers like Richard Corman, Michael Putland, Andrew Kent, Erik Voake, and Kirk Weddle. The exhibition speaks to Masterson’s wide range of musical influences and displays candid and concert images of rap pioneers like the Beastie Boys, rock gods like The Rolling Stones, and even the Queen of Pop, Madonna (Oseary’s longtime client). “Icons, Old & New” will run through the summer at Confederacy and rockpaperphoto.com. 4661 Hollywood Blvd., LA, 323-913-3040
Fashion shoot: December 2013 issue of Los Angeles Confidential magazine.
