Furthering her tireless support of the women of Haiti, actress Maria Bello (Prime Suspect) hosted an intimate fundraiser, raising over $70,000 for her charity We Advance. Founded as a women’s movement to better the lives of impoverished Haitian women, We Advance is a passion project of co-founder Bello, who continues to make frequent trips to the devastated region.
Over 150 supporters including Brooke Burns, Camille Grammar, Kyle Richards, Mauricio Umanksy, and We Advance co-founders Barbara Guillaume and Aleda Frishman, gathered at a sprawling Malibu estate for the recent event. While taking in gorgeous ocean views, guests traded stories and listened to special guest speaker, Danny Moder, who shared his experience and personal photos from his recent trip to Haiti.
A dedicated and vocal advocate of the cause, Bello has helped create programs and clinics designed to improve the health, safety, and overall wellbeing of the women of Haiti. Through We Advance, Bello hopes to eventually leave these flourishing programs in the hands of Haitian women.
