New Designers at Nordstrom, The Grove
BY ALEXANDRIA GEISLER
This spring the high-end retailer has curated an impressive collection of merchandise from the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists to bring some of the designers’ most coveted pieces to five select Nordstrom locations, including The Grove. “We are proud to evolve our commitment to the future of American fashion by hosting CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund shops in our stores. We think our customers will be excited to have access to the collections of these talented designers,” says Jeffrey Kalinsky, Nordstrom executive vice president of designer merchandising.
Finalists, including Andrea Lieberman of A.L.C., Tabitha Simmons of her eponymous shoe line (a runnerup for the award), LA’s own Greg Chait of The Elder Statesman (the award winner), and Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty of Suno will showcase their latest apparel alongside fellow finalist labels Giulietta, Assembly New York, Illesteva, Jennifer Fisher jewelry, Wes Gordon, and another runner-up for the award, Jennifer Meyer, the LA-based jewelry designer married to Tobey Maguire. “I feel privileged, and honored to be part of such a talented group of designers,” says Meyer. “It’s so exciting to have my collection sold among theirs, and I can’t wait to see how the shop comes together.”
This is the first time his collection will be sold at Nordstrom, notes Gordon, “and I couldn’t be more thrilled.” Situated in a pop-up shop in the Collectors department, Nordstrom shoppers can style themselves in the latest designer offerings from head to toe. Nordstrom, The Grove, LA, 323-930-2230
