What was your inspiration for Gucci’s spring collection?
FG:
A Mediterranean spirit and desert allure; I played with vivid colors and precious materials. This translates into a woman who loves to provoke and seduce with smart irony. For men, I fused sartorial elegance with an eclectic, free spirit.

Describe the relationship between Gucci and Hollywood.
FG:
Gucci and glamour have always been synonymous. Since the ’50s and ’60s, the label has been embraced by celebrities, socialites and royalty. The international jet set were photographed everywhere wearing their favorite Gucci pieces, and they became the house’s ambassadors. I have had the privilege of collaborating with James Franco, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z. I enjoy working with them because we all share the same ambition to continuously evolve and innovate.

Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry and The Recording Academy recently inked a three year deal with the Grammy Awards. The collaboration includes special-edition watches and jewelry, with proceeds going toward the preservation of musical recordings. Why was that something Gucci wanted to do?
FG:
Celebrating our 90th anniversary this year, we understand the importance of preserving our heritage. Partnering with The Recording Academy was a natural fit. What better way to celebrate than by going to LA for music’s biggest night?
