Marilyn Monroe famously did her last portrait sitting here, while Grace Kelly often stayed at Hotel Bel-Air, including the night in 1955 when she won the Best Actress Oscar for The Country Girl. The Hotel Bel-Air reopened its doors last year following a two-year restoration that left the sequestered gem—still a favorite among Hollywood’s A-list—dusted off and improved with a few additions (Wolfgang Puck built out an indoor/outdoor restaurant; La Prairie is handling the spa), but still as effortlessly fabulous as before. Don’t worry—the swans are still there.
