AG Adriano Goldschmied been the ultimate go-to denim source since 2000. Known for its superior quality, fits and washes, it’s no wonder the LA-based AG Jeans have long been a favorite wardrobe staple of celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria Parker and Charlize Theron. We chatted with the president and owner of the brand, Yul Ku, to find out what styles we’ll be living in (and loving) this season.

LOS ANGELES CONFIDENTIAL: How did you get started in the jeans industry?
YUL KU:
I am a second-generation apparel manufacturer, having followed in the footsteps of my parents who started off in the knits business after moving to America. In the early ’80s I began working with Calvin Klein and other fashion jean companies, which is how I got involved in manufacturing denim.

LAC: What are your design influences?
YK:
We always look to vintage jeans when seeking inspiration, as every jean really does tell a story, and no two are alike. Each pair has a certain wear pattern depending on a person’s lifestyle and job, and that is something the brand pays attention to when we create new washes and fi ts.

LAC: What new styles will we be seeing this fall?
YK:
AG continues to evolve its AG-ed Vintage collection by introducing new fi ts, washes and fabrications focusing on an authentic, worn-in look. For women we are introducing two styles: the Legging and Tights, which are designed with a superslim fit and have an elasticized waist and a knit feel and look. For men we put a lot of focus on our newest fit, the Geffen, which is our slimmest style for men.

LAC: How does living in LA infl uence you creatively?
YK:
Denim is essentially the uniform for Californians, so there really are influences everywhere you look in LA.
