CALL OF THE WILD
Express your inner woodsman with Korres’ new eau de toilette, Saffron Amber Agarwood Cardamom ($45). The synthetic free formula boasts earthy notes of cedarwood, sandalwood and agarwood with hints of spice. korresusa.com.
Whether you’re exploring the Serengeti or the canyons of Malibu, you’ll want to bring along the Leica X1 compact digital camera ($2,505). With 12.2 megapixels and the choice of automatic or manual controls (depending on how creative you’re feeling), it’s high-tech-meets-classic design. The all-metal case with leather detailing combines durability with a retro factor, so this camera will last and look hip for years to come. Samy’s Camera, 431 S. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles; leica.com
Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, gives the classic sports watch a makeover with the Pantheon Sport Collection. “Bright colors combined with rubber straps are the perfect fusion of sport and luxury,” says Giannini. Update your wardrobe with the Pantheon automatic sports watch ($1,795), which is water-resistant up to 300 meters (1,000 feet) and features a 44mm stainless steel case. Choose from white, black or red straps and matching bezels. Beverly Center, 8500 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles; gucci.com
I'm With the Band
We can’t get enough of LA designer Scott Sternberg’s latest collection for his line, Band of Outsiders, featuring preppy standards updated with a Downtown twist. This season Sternberg took inspiration from “images of Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s crew, Ed Ruscha airbrush paintings, a Malibu trailer park in the ’70s and a few other discordant elements for good measure.”
One of our favorite looks is his cotton canvas two-button suit ($1,935), a relaxed take on a timeless classic. The rolled-up pants cuffs say you know when it’s time to put the BlackBerry down and live a little. Confederacy, 4661 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles; bandofoutsiders.com
