Susan Sarandon
Susan Sarandon stars alongside Brosnan in The Greatest, the saga of a couple struggling to stay together after the death of their teenage son in a car accident. Sarandon breathes life into a portrayal that could have easily taken a clichéd route into standard sob-story territory. Writer/director Shana Feste took inspiration from Sundance founder Robert Redford’s Ordinary People and delivers a compelling story of loss and love. Black lamp-sleeve sweater by Magaschoni. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue, 9600 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, 310-275-4211.

Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon showed up at this year’s festival in Taking Chance, a film based on the true story of a marine tasked with escorting the body of a dead soldier home to Wyoming from Iraq in 2004. Though Sundance has attracted more than its share of Iraq-themed movies in recent years, Taking Chance stands out from the pack. Bacon delivers an unusual performance; he has limited dialogue and relies heavily on facial expressions and actions to execute the role. It’s a performance that’s being heralded as one of the best of his career. Watch for it on HBO. T-shirt by Guess. Guess, 411 North Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, 310-247-8667. Sweater by John Varvatos.
