Hayes MacArthur may call LA home now, but he remains a Midwesterner at heart. “I love it out here, but I miss Chicago,” he says. “This is going to sound like a meathead comment, but the ability to go to a Blackhawks or a
Cubs game instead of watching it on TV is so great.” Today MacArthur may miss rooting for the home team, but he has plenty of reasons to relish his City of Angels life. First there’s his role in Life as We Know It, a film hitting big screens this month about two godparents who aren’t a couple (Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl) that ultimately become parents to their friends’ (MacArthur and Christina Hendricks) daughter.

And then there is his highly buzzedabout
NBC sitcom, Perfect Couples, premiering the beginning of next year. “My character plays this reformed party guy who’s now over-embracing married life, but then he’s binge drinking on the side,” laughs MacArthur. “It should be called Dysfunctional Couples—that would be the more apt title for it.”

But perhaps the best part of the actor’s charmed West Coast life is his beautiful actress wife, Ali Larter, formerly of Heroes, whom he married in 2009 and who recently announced she is carrying the couple’s first child. Seems like there are plenty of reasons for this sports fan to make peace with watching his favorite teams on the tube. We certainly can’t wait to watch MacArthur on ours.
