PM: Check in with my producing partners at Hwy 61 and Serenade Films on the untitled feature loosely based on my life. If it ever sees the light of day, I will streak down Robertson past The Ivy at precisely 1:45 PM. That’s a promise.

PM: Nap. They are essential.

PM: Dinner. Trying to eat before 7 PM as much as possible. Stop laughing; my metabolism is slower than a turtle running from a sloth. Broiled tilapia, asparagus and yams—mmm mmm good.

PM: Time for my Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre Improv 101 class at the troupe’s theater in Hollywood. This is the best decision I’ve made in many moons. Learning the ways of the comedic force behind the likes of Amy Poehler is both exhilarating and humbling. And somehow, it borders on therapy.

PM: Whew, that was amazing. Endorphins are running at full tilt. Text messages are pouring in from various friends at Hollywood hot spots. Tempting? Yes. Wise? No. Go home.

PM: Pop open a bottle of 2006 Maddalena Cabernet Sauvignon, light the fireplace and settle into Absinthe Films’ snowboarding epic NowHere. ESPN Winter X Games, which I host, is just a few weeks away, and this is what we call research.

30 AM: Off to bed.
