Debbie Weisman, Kyle Richard, Faye Resnick and Lizzy Schwartz
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards celebrated the official opening of her new boutique Kyle by Alene Too, on October 11 with a fête befitting the store’s posh Brighton Way location. The boutique, which Richards cultivated alongside partners Lizzy Schwartz and Debbie Weisman (owner of Alene Too in Boca, FL) is a sprawling 5,000-square-foot space, stocking a variety of brands like Haute Hippie, David Lerner, Goldhawk, and What Goes Around Comes Round. Richards was joined at the event by co-stars Lisa Vanderpump and Faye Resnick (who designed the store), as well as celebrity friends like Christina Milian, Ali Landry, and Whitney Port. Port showed off the fall collection of her fashion line, Whitney Eve, which is available for purchase at the boutique.
Guests were treated to cocktails mixed with Tatratea and Vida Tequila, mini cupcakes courtesy of My Sweet Mini, bia5 water, and hors d’oeuvres by Via Alloro and Bru Haus. There was also a colorful candy station set up with goodie bags, so that guests could take home sweets at the end of the night. Attendees also walked away with a luxury gift bag filled with goodies from David Lerner, Angela Lutin, and new Beverly Hills beauty boutique Zensation, among others.
Though she was busy playing host to the hundreds of fashionable guests celebrating the boutique’s opening, Richards took a few moments to chat with Los Angeles Confidential about the store and how to make a day out of shopping in Beverly Hills. 9647 Brighton Way, Beverly Hills, 310-278-6200
Tell us how the store came about?
KYLE RICHARDS: I went to Boca for a book signing for my book at my partners’ store Alene Too, and I walked in and said, ‘Oh my God I’m obsessed with this store.’ I’ve never seen a store that really carried every single designer I love, as well as more casual denim and real jewelry. Everything just had my name written all over it. So when I came back, I reached out to them and said, ‘I really want to open that store in LA, what do you think?’ So we hired Faye Resnick and she put it together, and here we are.
Did you have a say in the brands?
KR: Absolutely! We have Haute Hippie, Parker, Missoni, Alice + Olivia, Mandalay, Paige Denim…we really have everything. People shopping in my store right now [range from] from teenagers to women in their 70s. I have such a big space, so I’m able to carry all that stuff— it’s 5,000 square feet!
Is this the first of many more stores for you?
KR: Who knows? I think it would be kind of fun to do this in Vegas. I think if I do it again, that would be the next stop.
Why Beverly Hills?
KR: That’s my hometown! People think of Beverly Hills as this big fancy town, but to me it’s just a little small town. I’ve known these people in these stores and restaurants since I was a baby. And it’s really fun to be right down the street from Lisa, it’s like Housewives’ row now.
How would you make a day of a visit to Kyle by Alene Too?
KR: I would go to Villa Blanca (9601 Brighton Way, Beverly Hills, 310-859-7600), Lisa’s restaurant, which has amazing food and atmosphere. Shopping here, you’re right across from Saks and Neiman Marcus and Barney’s, so it’s really an ideal location.
