As the world’s first superpremium vodka, Belvedere has built a superior reputation in the spirits world. To up its ante, the Polish vodka brand added a grapefruit flavor to its already impressive repertoire this spring.
Belvedere head of spirit creation and mixology Claire Smith says Belvedere Pink Grapefruit is made through a process called maceration, in which fresh grapefruit is steeped in vodka for weeks and then distilled to create a nonsynthetic, naturally flavored libation.
“We also add in fresh ginger and spring lemon from Murcia, Spain,” says Smith. “They’re blended together to create a pretty, delicate and expressive pink grapefruit aroma and palette with a hint of spice, which brings a bit more sex appeal and character to the vodka.” Available at Mel & Rose, 8344 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, 323-655-5557; melandrose.com
