Chicago-based chef Graham Elliot (LEFT) pops up at Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo’s Son of a Gun (RIGHT) resto in WeHo next week.
James Beard nominees Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo are inviting special guest chef Graham Elliot into the Son of a Gun kitchen April 8-9 to prepare a unique five-course tasting menu. Chef Elliot hails from Chicago, where he runs a namesake fine-dining restaurant, bistro, and upscale sandwich venture that have earned him countless accolades, including several James Beard nominations and two Michelin stars.
At Son of a Gun, Elliot—alongside his sous chef John Slack and corporate chef Merlin Verrier—will craft a menu that highlights the high-quality ingredients found in California. Although the full menu is still to be announced, one of the featured items will be salmon confit, roe, and chicharron with everything bagel spaetzle, dill schmear, red onion marmalade, and caper powder. Dishes will be paired with regional wine selections by graham elliot sommelier Jamie Kluz.
No stranger to SoCal, Elliot has recently been in LA filming the fourth season of Master Chef. And, although Elliot has expressed interest in someday opening a California resto, fans who can’t make it to the Windy City will have to settle for his occasional pop-up in the meantime. Tasting menu is $100 per person not including tax and gratuity, with a $40 additional fee for the wine pairings.
