On January 13, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored stars like Ben Affleck, Anne Hathaway, and Daniel Day-Lewis at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. But the revelry and mingling didn’t begin or end with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening monologue—instead, the Globes provided the perfect excuse for a weekend filled with gift lounges, red carpet moments, and stylized afterparties where Hollywood’s finest gathered to toast some of 2012’s best performances in film and television.
Lounges popped up throughout the city the day before the big event, showering stars with apropos pampering products and other luxe presents. At the HBO Luxury Lounge featuring Motorola and L’Oreal, nominees like Tony Kushner, Jeff Daniels, Steve Buscemi, Sarah Paulson, and more joined stars from HBO series like True Blood and Game of Thrones to pick up gifts from Motorola, Tivo, Sophia Fiori, and more. The HBO Luxury Lounge also included a L’Oreal Paris pampering salon with manicures, pedicures, hair styling, makeup, and beauty products like the new Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream.
Come the day of the Globes, the red carpet wasn’t just for snapping pics for best- and worst-dressed lists. Countless stars had a charitable incentive thanks to Moët & Chandon’s philanthropic initiative, Toast4aCause. Globes-going celebrities donated $1,000 to the charity of their choice by raising a toast with a Moët & Chandon Imperial mini. Nashville’s Hayden Panettiere honored The Whale Foundation, while Hugh Jackman saluted World Vision. Sean “P.Diddy” Combs toasted the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Jon Hamm supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and birthday-girl Julia Louis-Dreyfus raised her glass to Heal the Bay.
Stars flocked to various afterparties post-Globes, hosted by the likes of HBO, The Weinstein Company, and NBC Universal. But the real pièce de résistance of post-parties was the one in the Hilton courtyard thrown by Warner Brothers and InStyle magazine. Esteemed designer Tom Ford created the centerpiece tent, drawing inspiration from minerals and gemstones. Guests like Cecil B. Demille Award honoree Jodie Foster, host Amy Poehler, George Clooney, Julianna Margulies, Robert Downey Jr., Christoph Waltz, Sofia Vergara, Don Cheadle, and many more gathered to celebrate the evening, snacking on a selection of entrees like butternut squash bisque and braised prime short rib. Those craving dessert snuck over to the Godiva Chocolate Bar, where the luxury chocolate brand saluted the season of love with decadent creations inspired by some of film’s most famous moments.
