Broadway hit officially opens in LA tonight.

Georges and the Cagelles in La Cage Aux Folles.
Glitzy Broadway musical La Cage Aux Folles takes to The Pantages Theatre stage today for its LA debut. Based on the original 1973 play by Jean Poiret and book by Harvey Fierstein, the show returned in 2010 and became a Broadway smash, taking home the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival that year.
Its latest venture to the stage is marked with the dashing George Hamilton as nightclub owner Georges, and Christopher Seiber playing his flamboyant drag queen partner, Albin. Set in glamorous Saint-Tropez, the campy comedy has all the pizzazz of its Broadway production, including splashy dance numbers and laugh-out-loud shtick thanks to music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. Expert direction from Terry Johnson and seamless choreography by Lynne Page, who both held the same roles in the 2010 Broadway show, enhance the must-see performance.
The touring musical will run in LA until July 22nd before moving to Costa Mesa July 24 for another two-week stint. Tickets available at lacage.com. Pantages Theatre, 6233 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, 1-800-982.ARTS
