Dinner Plans: Bow & Truss in North Hollywood

A creative concept restaurant melds modern décor with classic Spanish/Latin cuisine.

July 13, 2012

An eclectic mix of Latin/Spanish-infused fare and unique cocktails, brand-new Bow & Truss is an artsy addition to North Hollywood. Set in a loft-like setting (the vision of LA-based architect Beth Holden of New Theme), the tavern features a sweeping outdoor patio, open kitchen, exposed brick, and the bow and truss ceiling, for which the eatery is named.

Bow & Truss, the second venture from Knitting Factory Entertainment (also owner to the year-old Federal Bar on nearby Lankershim Blvd.), boasts an ideal balance of modern and traditional in terms of cuisine and cocktails. For classic rice dishes, the earth, shelled, and walking paellas offer the choice of shiitake and oyster, seafood, and chorizo and chicken, respectively. Tantalizing tapas, like lobster ceviche, smelt fries, and a gourmet cheese plate are great for sharing, while the main entrees come in indulgent portions. Satisfy your stomach with lamp chop accompanied by charred asparagus and navy bean puree; or a signature seafood pot, chock full of California local white sea bass, PEI mussels, Manila clams, Mexican tiger shrimp, potato and charred corn. Toast your meal with inventive mixologist-made cocktails, such as the horse thief old-fashioned, DeCelia daiquiri, and fog cutter. 11122 Magnolia Blvd., North Hollywood, 818-985-8787
